In his home, Simiyon helps by carrying water, gathering firewood and buying or selling in the market. He lives with his father and his mother. His father is sometimes employed as a laborer and his mother is sometimes employed as a laborer. There are 3 children in the family.
For fun, Simiyon enjoys soccer, singing and art. He attends church activities, Bible class and Vacation Bible School regularly and is in high school where his performance is average.

Simiyon lives in the mountainous community of Meppadi, home to approximately 18,500 residents. Typical houses are constructed of dirt floors, stone walls and tile roofs. The most commonly spoken language is Malayalam.
The regional diet consists of beans, fish, plantains and rice. Common health problems in this area include anemia, dysentery and malnutrition. Most adults in Meppadi work as day laborers and earn the equivalent of $35 per month. This community has electricity and water but needs tuition assistance, scholastic materials and skills training.
Your sponsorship allows the staff of C.S.I. Holy Immanuel Child Development Center to provide Simiyon with Bible teaching, health checkups, health education, hygiene supplies, nutritious food, picnics, field trips, tutoring and school supplies. The center staff will also provide skills training, meetings and awareness programs for the parents or guardians of Simiyon.
