In her home, Anuja helps by carrying water, buying or selling in the market and cleaning. She lives with her father and her mother. Her father is sometimes employed as a laborer and her mother maintains the home. There are 2 children in the family.
For fun, Anuja enjoys art, walking and reading. She attends church activities, Vacation Bible School and camp regularly and is in high school where her performance is average.

Anuja lives in the hillside community of Ozhuvathadom, home to approximately 16,300 residents. Typical houses are constructed of cement floors, brick walls and AC sheet roofs.
The regional diet consists of bananas, beef, bread, fish, rice, potatoes and eggs. Common health problems in this area include asthma, diabetes, skin illnesses, measles, conjunctivitis, fevers and colds. Most of the adults in Ozhuvathadom are unemployed but some work as subsistence farmers, day laborers or in domestic services and earn the equivalent of $60 per month. This community needs vocational training, income-supplementing programs, tuition assistance and alcohol abuse prevention programs.
Your sponsorship allows the staff of Faith Child Development Center to provide Anuja with Bible teaching, indoor and outdoor games, health and hygiene education, nutritious food, music classes, field trips, vocational training and tutoring. The center staff will also provide meetings and income-generating programs for the parents or guardians of Anuja.
