Common health problems in this area include malnutrition, anemia, worms, scabies, fevers, cholera, diarrhea, asthma, chicken pox and polio. Most adults in Mechal work as day laborers and earn the equivalent of $48 per month. This community has electricity and health services but needs vocational courses, income-supplementing programs and substance abuse prevention programs.
Your sponsorship allows the staff of St. Thomas Children's Center to provide Babu with Bible teaching, health screenings, nutritious food, indoor and outdoor sports, field trips, cultural activities, school supplies, tutoring and field trips.
