Sivakumaran lives with his father and his mother. He is responsible for buying or selling in the market , running errands and cleaning. His father is sometimes employed as a laborer and his mother maintains the home. There are 2 children in the family.
As part of Compassion's ministry, Sivakumaran participates in church activities, Bible class and Vacation Bible School. He is also in college where his performance is average. Art, playing ball games and hide-and-seek are his favorite activities.

Common health problems in this area include malnutrition, gastrointestinal disorders, skin diseases, upper respiratory infections, anemia, urinary tract infections, vitamin deficiencies, eating disorders, ulcers and colds. Most adults in Neivilai are unemployed but some work as laborers and earn the equivalent of $82 per month. This community needs employment opportunities and proper sanitation.
