Gunde makes his home with his grandfather and his grandmother. Gathering firewood, buying or selling in the market and gardening are his household duties. His grandfather is sometimes employed as a laborer and his grandmother is employed as a laborer. There are 3 children in the family.
For fun, Gunde enjoys art, walking and playing ball games. He attends church activities, Bible class and Vacation Bible School regularly and is in high school where his performance is average.

Most adults in Gandigunta work as day laborers and earn the equivalent of $50 per month. This community has water and electricity but needs scholastic materials, employment opportunities and alcohol abuse prevention programs.
