Willow Creek Association and Compassion International have created a partnership because we believe the Church, as an international body, can and should unite to bring Christ to a hurting world. By investing together in the world's children today, we create leaders for tomorrow. Leaders who will build prevailing churches, change communities and transform nations. Together, united as one, the Church can win the fight against poverty. Please partner in the fight against poverty and watch as your church has a direct, significant and powerful impact.
The Church is the hope of the world.
A message from Jim Mellado, President and CEO of the Willow Creek Association
Our strategy at the Willow Creek Association continues to be: change a leader, change a church —change a church, change a community — and eventually the world!
- This year, we have strengthened this vision through a special relationship with Compassion International — one of the world's preeminent evangelical child development ministries.
- Compassion understands the role of local churches and their visionary indigenous pastors in child development programs.
- They also understand that in order for churches in the developing world to reach their full redemptive potential, it takes churches in the developed world to partner with them in this cause.
Poverty robs children of their dreams—
And left unchecked, it destroys their lives.
A message from Wess Stafford, President and CEO of Compassion International
- For the past 55 years, Compassion International has been dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.
- We believe that introducing a child in poverty to the truth of a loving heavenly Father who created them for a purpose and who cares deeply about them is the key to combating poverty. And it is through the Church that this message of a future and a hope is carried out to the world.
- Compassion works in close partnership with 4,600 local churches in 26 countries around the world. It is these local church partners who personally minister the love of Christ on a daily basis.
- It is such a privilege for Compassion International to partner with the Willow Creek Association in this great call to further equip and mobilize the Church. We are united in our goals to enable the Church to be the hands and feet of Christ and to carry the Good News to the farthest ends of the earth!
