Through the years it has been Creation Festival's privilege to work with Compassion. We believe that child sponsorship brings new depth to the word commitment in the life of a believer. When people sponsor a child at a Creation Festival, they are touching the very heart of Jesus. I have seen Compassion's ministry firsthand in Peru, Ecuador, Kenya and Tanzania. I can tell you they are making a difference in this world for Jesus.

Spirit West Coast is very supportive of Compassion, as I have been personally for almost 20 years. In fact, it is expressly part of the Spirit West Coast ministry mission to not only impact people at Laguna Seca during the event, but also internationally afterwards through the work of Compassion.

Simply put, Compassion changes lives. Rather, through Compassion, God changes lives! And you know what the funny part is? It's not just the children's lives that are changed. Being a Compassion sponsor changes our lives, too. That's what we've seen at 7:22 where over 1000 young singles in Atlanta have made the commitment to be a part of a child's life somewhere in the world. I've seen firsthand the difference Compassion makes in other countries, but I have also watched as God has used a Compassion sponsorship to open the eyes of our people to His world. It's a great first step toward joining God in His amazing work among all peoples.

 

Our family has been active in supporting three girls with Compassion for several years. We feel Compassion is making a world of difference and a difference in the world.

Compassion International not only provides well-known chapel speakers like Tony Campolo, but also introduces new speakers like Laurie Polich. The quality of the speakers we have had has been superb. They capture students' hearts and help them see the need to get involved with the poor through sponsoring a child. This is a partnership we are thrilled to continue!

Our experience working with Compassion was first-rate in every way. From helping to arrange for an excellent speaker for our Spiritual Enrichment Week to covering her travel expenses, the folks at Compassion went out of their collective way to be of service to us.

I also appreciate the "soft-sell" nature of their presentations regarding the work that they do. There was no browbeating or guilt-inspiring tales of sadness and woe — although such an approach is often used by others in similar circumstances.

I highly recommend Compassion as a terrific resource for advancing the Kingdom of God and introducing young people to the opportunities for ministry available to them right now, regardless of age or station in life.
