Hear from pastors and sponsors about their experience with Compassion Sunday.
 | Don Taylor, Pastor
Ni River Church, Virginia
"The Lord used Compassion in our church when we began to look beyond ourselves and to see how we could be less of a 'holy huddle' and more of a Jesus impact on the world around us. We challenged ourselves to see if we could become more involved internationally with being just a small part of the solution to world poverty. Compassion came to our aid and showed us the way to be Jesus to the developing world. As a result of this service, we were able to reach beyond ourselves and build actual relationships with children living in poverty through Compassion. Forty-six families in our church have become involved sponsoring children and have been so blessed because of the interactive nature of this ministry — they love to hear from the children and love investing money and time in a relationship." | | Back to top | Dr. Peter B. "I can't say enough good things about Compassion International and the partnership our church has had with this great organization! They have helped us put hands and feet to the call of Jesus Christ to care for the poor of the world and to take the Good News of God's love to the utter ends of the earth. Compassion has helped revolutionize our church's commitment to the Great Commission in the Great Commandment. Rarely have I been as impressed with an organization's expression of integrity, accountability, faithfulness and godliness. It is an honor to be associated with Compassion International." | | Back to top | Katie Stewart, Sponsor

"Public speaking is one of my greatest fears - God obviously wants people like me to step up on behalf of His children -- giving me the courage and strength to speak up." | | Back to top | Todd Van Ek, Senior Pastor
Gun Lake Community Church, Michigan
"Gun Lake Community Church is excited about our partnership with Compassion International. It is comforting to know that such a worthwhile organization exists to connect us with a tool to minister in a way we would never be able to do on our own. Compassion helps us to minister to developing countries and gives us the opportunity to fulfill Christ's command to witness to the ends of the earth. Compassion International operates with the highest level of integrity, practicality, relevance, service and heartfelt passion to both the receiving and giving parties." | | Back to top |
