The Great Commission. It was the last commandment Jesus gave to the early church. He said, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20, NIV).
Compassion's Strength – The Local Church
Compassion is responding to the Great Commission by equipping more than 4,500 church partners in 24 developing countries around the globe to provide outreach to their poor communities. Because of partnerships with individual sponsors and churches like yours, Compassion provides church partners financial resources and training. In turn, our church partners operate child development centers that offer our programs to more than 1 million children worldwide.
Partnering with churches ensures that children enrolled in Compassion's program:
- are exposed to the gospel
- receive assistance through a church — a trusted, secure and stable pillar of their community
- are shown the love of Jesus Christ
