Child Sponsorship Blogs

Blog About Your Compassion Child Sponsorship Experience

Blogs are one of today's most popular and effective ways to communicate and "spread the word," and your words can be powerful in advocating for children in need. Share your Compassion child sponsorship experience by creating a blog or linking your current blog to Compassion's Web site. Your personal story as a Child Advocate may encourage another person to reach out to a child in need through Compassion's Christian Child Sponsorship Program. What a blessing that would be!

Create a Compassion blog.

A blog is just a written account of your experience shared on the World Wide Web. A typical blog includes written entries, photos, Web links and other materials you can put online. Creating a Compassion blog or linking your current blog to Compassion is easy! Use one of myriad blogging sites to learn how to create a blog to release children from poverty in Jesus' name:

Tips on creating content for a Compassion blog.

Here are some tips and ideas on how to populate your newly created Compassion blog:

  • Include photos of your sponsored child.
  • Use free Compassion banners, graphics and images.
  • Keep an online journal about your child sponsorship experience.
  • Share facts and ideas on children in poverty.
  • If you visit your sponsored child's country, share this experience.
  • Link your blog to content on Compassion's Web site.
  • Remember to abide by the blog content rules.

Also, consider joining Compassion's blogging network and join with hundreds of other Compassion sponsors to help spread the word about children in need.

Link your current blog to Compassion.

Help increase Compassion's visibility on the Web by linking your blog to Compassion's Web site. By linking to Compassion's site you are sending people to Compassion's site who have an interest in sponsoring a child, becoming a Child Advocate, making a charitable donation, and potentially much more. Your efforts also help to improve Compassion's search engine rankings by providing an in-bound link to our site from a relevant site about your child sponsorship experience.

Blog Content Rules

By creating a Compassion blog or linking your blog to compassion.com, you agree to the following blog content rules for your blog or Web site:

  • Does not contain content that is pornographic or sexually explicit, libelous, threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful, embarrassing, offensive to Christians or links to such material.
  • Does not contain or promote any chain letters or pyramid schemes or links to such material.
  • Does not contain hate, violence or violation of any federal or state laws or links to such material.
  • Does not promote a specific political agenda or political party. (Compassion does not allow our name or our ministry to be leveraged on behalf of any political causes.)
  • Does not violate intellectual copyrights, trademarks or any other proprietary right of Compassion.
  • Does not contain detailed information about the location of children in Compassion's program.

Child Privacy

To protect privacy and security, child numbers and project numbers should not be posted on the Web. In addition, bloggers should use only a child's first name if they are writing about matters of personal health — such as HIV/AIDS.
