"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me."
John 17:20-21
Compassion-sponsored children have access to education, medical care, nutritious food and knowledge of the love of Jesus. They have been so blessed that many of them pray for their sponsors every day. Yet the children need prayer, too.
The following are prayer requests from the Rwanda Country Office about the children, families, church partners and staff in Rwanda:
- Please pray for the several children whose parents have died. Pray for family members and caregivers to surround them with love. Pray also for the children to experience the love and protection that comes from Jesus.
- Please pray for the many children who do not receive encouragement from their family or friends. Pray for the Lord to plant strong dreams in their hearts and a desire to serve Him. Pray for them to find love and support at the Compassion center.
- Please pray for the children whose mothers have turned to prostitution to provide for their families. Pray the Lord will use other people in the community and the Compassion staff to help find them good work. May the Lord open a door for better employment and hope.
- Please pray for the young children who are suffering illnesses due to lack of good medical care. Pray that they will receive the treatment they need and that the Lord will fully restore them to health so they can enjoy their childhood.
