Prayer Requests for the Dominican Republic

"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me."
--  John 17:20, 21

Compassion-sponsored children have access to education, medical care, nutritious food and knowledge of the love of Jesus. They have been so blessed that many of them pray for their sponsors every day. Yet the children need prayer, too.

The following are prayer requests from the Dominican Republic Country Office about the children, families, church partners and staff in the Dominican Republic.

  • Pray for Jesus, Carlos and Miguel in the Dominican Republic, who have sickle cell anemia. Pray for their strength and healing and for God to comfort their families.
  • Please pray for God's protection for the children and adolescents who are exposed to crime and violence. Pray for the Lord to deliver them from being involved in these situations.
  • Please pray for the children who have divorced parents. Pray for God to be the mediator in these broken relationships and for Him to provide peace and strength to the children.
  • Please pray for the Lord to continue to use the staff in the Dominican Republic and the staff in Haiti to be an encouragement and source of joy for one another, especially in light of the cholera epidemic and the continued relief for rebuilding Haiti.
