Patrick Kokoska

Patrick Ray Kokoska was born July 12, 1944 in Sykesville, Pennsylvania to John and Clara Kokoska and was received by his Lord and Savior on Resurrection morning, April 9, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean, three sons, Evan (wife Mimi), David (wife Kristy), and Scott (wife Carrie), eleven grandchildren, and his sister Myra Foster.

Pat met Mae Jean Faith Hainley while studying at the University of Pittsburgh. They were married on August 21st, 1965. Pat strived to manifest the virtues of his Savior, in living faithfully as a husband, father, grandfather, teacher, friend, and mentor. He retired from Pfizer after 35 years to focus on ministries at World Gospel Church and ministry travels to Slovakia. Additionally, he served through foreign, church and prison ministries to build relationships and to give hope to the unreached. He embodied love and availed himself to everyone in his midst.

Pat loved living in Scripture and one of his favorites, Isaiah 12:2 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation,” exemplifies his purpose driven life. He rose in the morning with his heavenly Father in his mind and rested nightly with Scripture in his heart.

We who can say “we knew him”, means we were blessed and touched by Pat’s kindness and guidance. For many of us who can say “Pat knew us”, means we were recipients of the bestest bear hugs, walks alongside him, and his presence in our lives. We believe Pat, the consummate teacher, would want us to go forth and live by his parting words, Luke 10:27, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” Amen.
