Dr. Wess Stafford is an internationally recognized advocate for impoverished, neglected and abused children. Since 1977 he has worked with Compassion International and has served as President since 1993. He is the author of Too Small To Ignore, and hosts a daily radio feature, Speak Up With Compassion ®.
Growing up as the son of Ivory Coast missionaries, Wess witnessed the effects of poverty at a young age. He knew he was called to speak up for the world’s most vulnerable children. “Everything I really need to know to lead a multinational organization I learned from the poor, growing up in an African village,” says Wess.
Fluent in several languages, he earned degrees from Moody Bible Institute, Biola University, Wheaton College, and a doctorate from Michigan State University. He also served in U.S. Army as a linguist in military intelligence. An outdoorsman and family man, Wess lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Donna. They are the proud parents of two daughters.
