We aspire to be more like our Savior, Jesus Christ, in who we are and what we do. We are called as stewards of the ministry of Compassional International. We commit to the following in ever-increasing measure:
Demonstrate Godly Character
We commit to actively seek God’s face and to do His will, demonstrating that God has changed — and is changing — our character.
Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12b).
We cherish family and dedicate ourselves to our families as our highest priority after God.
As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15b).
Commit to a Local Church
We actively commit to a local gathering of believers and submit to both the blessings and correction it can offer.
Let us not give up meeting together... (Hebrews 10:25)
Live with Integrity
We commit to congruency, reliability, and honesty in every area of our lives, seeking to be above reproach and to earn the trust of others.
Live a life worthy of the calling you have received. (Ephesians 4:1b).
Exemplify Servant Leadership
We serve others, especially those we lead, treating our staff as co-laborers in the kingdom of God.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve... (Mark 10:45).
We seek feedback and accept instruction from others, knowing that God is continuing to shape us and mold us.
Let the wise listen and add to their learning... (Proverbs 1:5).
Lead With Courage
We lead courageously through present and future challenges, doing what is morally right and strategically effective, asking God for discernment, strength and courage.
Be strong and courageous. (Joshua 1:9a).
Ignite Passion for Ministry
We develop our vision and strategy for Compassion from our intense passion for its ministry, and encourage those around us to share in that passion.
His word is in my heart like a fire... (Jeremiah 20:9b).
We recognize that leadership is about influencing others, and we commit to effectively influence others through excellent personal and public communications skills.
If the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? (1 Corinthians 14:8)
We equip those we lead to maximize their skills and abilities for use in Compassion’s ministry and in God’s broader kingdom.
Prepare God's people for works of service... (Ephesians 4:12).
Strive for Excellence
We commit to excellence so that we may carry out the ministry of Compassion in a God-honoring way.
Work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord... (Colossians 3:23).
Practice Personal Disciplines
We commit to ongoing personal growth through a life balanced by disciplines that develop every area of our lives — our relationships, our bodies, our minds, our emotions and our spirits.
If the ax is dull... more strength is needed... (Ecclesiastes 10:10).
