We've received heartwarming prayers and drawings from children at a small, Compassion-assisted child center in Ecuador. They want to encourage sponsors in Hurricane Sandy affected areas through their words and pictures of hope and encouragement. This message accompanied the children's drawings:

Dear Compassion Sponsors,

Warm greetings from Gate of Hope Student Center in Chaquibamba, Ecuador. We want you to know we are praying for the problem that your country is facing due to Hurricane Sandy. We worked with the children to represent our affection and solidarity for you, with a focus on Psalm 145:18:

"The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" (NIV).

We don't exactly know all the difficulties you are going through, but we do know that our God is great and is watching over every single one of our steps. We are deeply grateful to you for not giving up on the amazing support you've been giving to Ecuador, the world, and most of all, sponsored children. Words are not enough to thank you for your faithfulness, and all we can say right now is that we will keep on lifting our prayers up for you. God bless you!

"We are with you through thick and thin, in good and bad times. We are very worried, here in Ecuador, about everything that happened in the United States." — Kevin Villa, sponsored child EC-162
