Thailand has a very rich history both as a country and with Compassion. The beauty is stunning and the culture is amazing. As we visit various evangelical churches who partner with Compassion, you will be humbled as you meet the staff at the student centers. These godly women and men truly are the hands and feet of Jesus.
One day mothers and babies touch our hearts as we see firsthand the impact of the Child Survival Program. Quality time at the centers and learning from the staff give us a better understanding about child development. There are so many different elements involved, but interaction with the happy children shows the staff is doing a very good job. Young people receive an education and training beyond the secondary level. They truly want to take advantage of every opportunity given. Throughout these visits, we see examples of Complementary Intervention funds being put to good use. They improve conditions, teach new skills, start a business, get age-appropriate Bibles, and much more.
Our family and friends will hear these stories when we get home. But wait - there's more. A special child is waiting for you, and now it's their turn! They can't imagine what it's going to be like to hug their sponsor in person, but they are ready!
Thailand has gone through a lot lately so your visit is very timely. They need your love and encouragement. You will definitely be an encouragement and blessing! Read our details and then pray if this is the right time for you. We trust it will be and we'll see you in March!

Days 1-2, Travel to Thailand
Saturday-Sunday, March 14-15 After a noon departure on Cathay Pacific Airlines from LAX Airport in Los Angeles and a layover in Hong Kong, we finally arrive at the airport in Bangkok, Thailand late Sunday evening.
Days 3-5, Office and Chiang Mai
Monday-Wednesday, March 16-18 A short flight this morning takes us to Chiang Mai where the dedicated staff is eager to welcome us to the Compassion Thailand Country Office. Devotions, presentation of their work here and an office tour with questions and answers give us a better setting and understanding of the days ahead. Over lunch we hear from alumni who now work in the Compassion office. During our time in Chiang Mai we’ll experience a variety of Compassion’s programs.
Days 6-9, Chiang Rai Centers
Thursday-Sunday, March 19-22 Traveling to Chiang Mai, we’re introduced to several different tribal groups including the Karen and Lahu. Here we learn about the Child Survival Program, the incredible start it gives babies, and the life skills teaching the mothers and caregivers receive. Another development center we visit is near the Burma border. This unique area gives us an opportunity to be thankful for this trip. Sunday we’ll join our Thai brothers and sisters at a partner church for praise, worship, and scripture. What a joy to join together! Then we make our way back to Chiang Mai for the remainder of our time in country.
Day 10, It’s the Big Fun Day
Monday, March 23 You all know why you really came to Thailand; so let’s have a great day with our sponsored children. What a thrill to meet face-to-face. This special day includes activities, learning about each other, loads of smiles, lots of photos, and memories for a lifetime. Yes, even some tears.
Days 11-12, Final Visit, Tourist, Farewell
Tuesday-Wednesday, March 24-25 One more center is waiting for our visit as we learn about Complementary Interventions and the different these special funds make. Then our last day it’s time to catch our breath, do some shopping for gifts and souvenirs, and pack. Tonight is our farewell dinner and time to share about our experiences in Thailand.
Day 13, Good-bye and Travel Home
Thursday, March 26 Yes, we have to say good-bye and start our long flight home. A morning flight from Bangkok, then a layover again in Hong Kong, and we still arrive back in LAX on the same day. We’ve learned so much and our lives will never be the same!
In order to ensure our children's protection and determine eligibility to travel with Compassion, we now require all travelers (over the age of 18) to complete a criminal background check to ensure the safety of the children in our programs.
Please visit ScreeningOneSponsorTourBC to complete your online background check at the time of registration. If you are unable to complete this online, please contact us and we will send you a paper form for you to fill out and return. Compassion uses a third party vendor, Protect My Ministry to process background checks. The results of your background check are confidential and all personal information is encrypted and secure.
