Walk / Run / Ride Against Poverty
Yes, things look different here! The site may have changed, but our passion to equip you to release children from poverty is just as strong as ever. In the near future, you'll see a brand new site with great tools for fundraising — so you can help even more child in need! (Just use this existing site until then.)
Joining Team Compassion offers encouragement on two fronts:
- You'll be raising awareness of poverty that children live in daily. You'll be offering help and hope to these children, and the opportunity to be all God wants them to be.
- You'll be improving your life by challenging yourself to run, ride, bike or swim your way to better health. Even if you excercise regularly, this an opportunity to set goals that push you forward to a new personal best.
Show your team spirit with Compassion gear.
It's a fact: People who sport Compassion gear get noticed.
Our store offers running, cycling and triathlon gear. So get yourself and the children noticed.
+ What is Compassion?
Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Our ministry is Christ focused, child centered, church based, and committed to integrity.
+ What does Team Compassion raise money for?
Through the ministry of Compassion, more than 1.5 million children in the world’s poorest and most desperate communities are receiving much-needed help. They are learning about Jesus. They are being loved by Christian teachers and volunteers in Christ-centered churches. Their bodies are becoming healthier and stronger. They are getting educational support, protection and encouragement.
Gifts raised through Team Compassion will empower us to reach even more children with the hope and love of Jesus — to release them from poverty in His name. Your efforts allow us to work together to reclaim the lives of even more children in poverty — showing them God’s love and bringing each one a new life filled with health and hope.
+ What kind of event can I participate in to raise funds and awareness?
Any kind of event is accepted. All forms of marathons, triathlons and similar competitive events are applicable. Whether you run, walk, bike or swim, you can create an opportunity to raise money for children in need.
+ How much should my fundraising goal be?
Setting your fundraising goal is a personal thing. We can’t tell you what number to type in the box, but we can tell you most folks aim for $1,500 to $2,500. So think about it, pray about it, and then set an achievable but realistic goal that’s right for you.
+ Can I take donations by check?
The easiest way to receive donations is online through your personal fundraising webpage. When donations are made online, your totals are automatically updated.
If you or a donor prefers to donate by check or cash, you can do so by sending a check to the following address. Be sure to include the name of the participant or team that you are supporting so we can credit the appropriate participant.
