Dear prayer partner,
Imagine you’re a child unable to walk. You can’t get yourself to school or play with your friends. Now imagine that you’re living in poverty and lack even your most basic needs.
You’re scared for your future because you don’t know how you’ll work to support yourself. And there’s no one to turn to if your family can’t care for you. This is a daily reality for many disabled children who live in poverty.
So in April, we’re praying for children who live with disabilities. These children are truly among the most vulnerable in the world. They face many barriers to normal parts of daily life. It might be getting out of bed in the morning. Or walking to school by themselves. These limitations affect not only their daily routines but also their future opportunities.
Join me in praying first for God to protect kids around the world living with physical or cognitive challenges. They are doubly dependent, first as children and then because of their disabilities. This leaves them vulnerable to exploitation. That’s why Compassion is working to give children all over the world access to resources and opportunities that help them thrive.
This month, pray that God continues to use Compassion staff to provide hope and tangible resources for all of the children they serve, including those with disabilities. Pray that parents will have renewed wisdom and endurance in the day-to-day challenges of caregiving. Pray that God works in the hearts of every child, lifting each head high and offering hope for the future.
