Come see first-hand the impact your sponsorship is having on the life of the child you support here in Peru. Together, we will serve the bride of Christ in Peru as we learn from them, encourage them and bless them. Your face-to-face presence with your sponsored child will no doubt inspire the child to continue to grow in Christ and fulfill the dreams and ambitions purposed for their future. This incredible tour will give you the opportunity to know with certainty that your contributions are solidifying change in the heart of every child we serve and you will begin to see how that one decision will ultimately bring about the development of this poverty stricken country. Make no mistake that God is moving here and your partnership is bringing about His Kingdom plans for the “least of these.” And don’t forget, this tour includes the trip to the Peruvian jungle as well.

If you have an active faith that desires to roll up your sleeves and serve, this is the trip for you. We’ll plan and prepare in advance to provide a vacation bible school-typed program when we visit the children in some of the poorest communities in the country. We will also have opportunities to serve in more tangible ways, like painting, light construction and other service projects. In fact, a sponsor tour is a fantastic way to serve as a family. We often have entire families join us to experience the adventure together.

I am sure even now your heart is beating just a little bit faster as you consider this opportunity. I am sure there is a part only you can fill, so check with the Lord and then get yourself registered as quickly as possible because these tours fill fast. See you soon!!

* This trip is offered at a 20% discount for Compassion Advocates. Discount spaces are very limited, and are on a first come, first serve basis.

Registration: Our trips fill up quickly on a first-come basis, so it is important to register by 3/26/2012 (deposit date). Once we have received your registration along with a deposit of $280.00, we will confirm your place on the tour and you may then purchase your domestic air ticket. The final payment of $3095.00 is due no later than 6/27/2012.

are transportation to and from Miami, passport and incidentals such as snacks, additional beverages, laundry, phone calls, film and other personal items. You may want to bring extra spending money for shopping at the local markets.

Safety and Preparation: This tour will be moderate in difficulty because of impoverished conditions. Also, there will be some walking, rides on bumpy roads, and long days. We will have a light work element in this tour.

Compassion constantly monitors the safety of our destination countries and will make any adjustments necessary to protect our tour participants, sponsored children and in-country staff. We believe it is important to provide safe, comfortable accommodations, traditional meals and reliable transportation so that your focus can be on what God is teaching you and the impact of the experience rather than concern for your personal safety and well-being.

Please read the Tour Conditions and General Information tab before finalizing your decision.

Day 1: Our Adventure Begins

Saturday, October 13: Our group will be meeting at Miami International Airport, our U.S. gateway city, for a quick introduction before we start our journey to Peru, South America.

Day 2: In Depth - Understanding Compassion

Sunday, October 14: There is no better way to engage in a new culture, than to experience authentic worship through a Sunday morning worship service. This will be our first order of business in Lima, Peru, and a fabulous experience!  Afterwards, we will have lunch and then return to our hotel for an introduction to Peru as well as orientation of the culture and how Compassion’s work among the poor affect this amazing country.

Day 3: Travel to the Jungle

Monday, October 15: Today you are in for a spectacular treat. We’ll journey from Lima, through the Andes mountains to the central jungle where beauty, majesty and splendor await. We’ll take breaks along the way to take pictures and stretch our legs as we reach some of the most remote and desperate areas of the country.

Day 4 - 7: Experience Compassion in the Midst of the Jungle

Tuesday, October 16 - Wednesday, October 17: We will join together to experience the realities of poverty, the struggles these families face, and how your ministry of Compassion is truly transforming lives. You’ll visit a Compassion child development center that serves the poorest of the poor and work together to provide a vacation bible school program designed to share God’s love (expressed through you) for them. You’ll also learn about the leadership challenges facing this country and how Compassion is developing emerging young leaders with the godly character and professional skills to transform their families, churches, communities and even the entire nation.

Thursday, October 18 - Friday, October 19: If you have a sponsored child in this area, they will be included in a day of sight-seeing, for those interested some moderate hiking to beautiful water falls, possibly a boat ride, botanical gardens and much more. Friday we return to Lima for some shopping and a good night of sleep.

Day 8: Child Sponsor Fun Day

Saturday, October 20: Finally the day has arrived for you to meet the beautiful children you sponsor in Peru (if you haven’t already met them while in the jungle region). We’ll bring the children to a fun, interactive location and spend the entire day making memories. Tonight we close out our experience with a final dinner and time of sharing highlights and lessons we have learned along the way.

Day 9: Travel Home

Sunday, October 21: With our hearts stirred and memory cards full, we return to the US to cherish the lesson we have learned and work out how we will live as a result of the transformational experiences we have had together.

BACKGROUND CHECK
In order to ensure our children's protection and determine eligibility to travel with Compassion, we now require all travelers (over the age of 18) to complete a criminal background check to ensure the safety of the children in our programs.

Please visit Screening One Sponsor Tour BC to complete your online background check at the time of registration.  If you are unable to complete this online, please contact us and we will send you a paper form for you to fill out and return.  Compassion uses a third party vendor, Screening One to process background checks.  The results of your background check are confidential and all personal information is encrypted and secure.

RESERVATIONS should be made well in advance and require a nonrefundable deposit of $280.00 per person. Final Payment of $3095.00 is due no later than 6/27/2012.

AIR TRANSPORTATION and FUEL SURCHARGES
Air transportation as included in the tour is based on economy-class transportation and is subject to all rules and regulations governing these fares. Fuel surcharges are added on a per-ticket basis at time of confirmation. In the event these surcharges are increasingly higher than budget estimates, we may require additional funds to cover these surcharges.

Airlines will frequently have flight changes that may interfere with your international connection from your domestic flight. Please understand that we are not responsible for any costs associated with airline changes as they are outside of our control. For this reason, we recommend allowing at least four hours between arrival time at the gateway city and the time the group flight departs the airport.
