On this exotic exploration of the beautiful country of Indonesia we’ll explore several of its largest cities and dream destinations! This 10-day tour will take us initially to the city of Jakarta. Beneath it’s veneer; this intriguing city is covered in concrete slabs and shabby slums. Amidst the poverty, however, this is a city of surprises and many faces. You’ll see first hand the deep-seated desire so many Indonesians have to rise above the poverty they were born into – especially for their beloved children.

Our next stop is Bandung. This city provides a backdrop for the work that Compassion is doing across the country. Here, we will visit the country office and meet the dedicated staff who are making freedom from poverty a reality in the lives of children. Bandung is now a center for higher education, commerce and growing industry while maintaining much of its colonial charm!

All of these experiences have prepared us for the day we’ve been anticipating – the day we meet the wonderful children we sponsor through Compassion International. A full day with our children will connect your hearts like nothing you imagined! You will learn more about:

  • Where your child lives, their families, and their dreams for the future
  • You’ll see the impact your support and loving letters have meant to the heart of your child
  • You’ll share and receive so much love and joy from your child
  • You’ll be changed by the way God has brought you together – what a gift!

Let’s not forget about ADVENTURE! Our final destination will take us to the exotic island of Bali. This place will capture your imagination with its rich cultures, sprawling rice fields and villages bursting with character. This is a journey that lets you experience the less-travelled side of the island-walking, cycling, scuba diving, kayaking, snorkeling and swimming in some of Indonesia’s most beautiful beachside settings. Plenty of adventure is in store as we finish our tour with a rush of adrenaline!

*Be sure to check your child number, as we will be visiting Indonesia (IO) only, and not children coded ID for East Indonesia.

There are few ways to fully understand the culture and community that represents your sponsored child’s country than by experiencing the beauty, adventure, and outdoor excitement here in Bali! Our 3rd adventure day will be a little more relaxed in our activities as we start to unwind and process this incredible experience! Tonight’s dinner of debriefing and sharing will help us prepare for tomorrow’s journey home.
