Haiti is a country filled with brilliant colors and lush landscapes. Within it’s beauty a contrast exists from the tropical appeal to the harsh realities of poverty and hunger. Compassion’s work in Haiti has spanned over 35 years and this 3rd sponsor tour to Haiti since the earthquake of 2010 will be both eye opening and life changing.
Haiti’s heritage is deeply entrenched in its culture. Consider the experience of enjoying the open markets, rituals, and cultural dances. With its mountainous landscape and tropical climate, Haiti, has the basic ingredients of a beautiful destination. You won’t want to miss this adventure. Along with experiencing the culture and expanding your worldview you will have the unique opportunity to see exactly why Compassion has found a home among Haiti’s people.
Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere and as such, carries the heartbeat of all that Compassion hopes to accomplish…releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name! Partnering with the Church and developing children into their full potential while encouraging their dreams and talents, allows the work of Compassion to thrive. You play a huge part in their lives and we want to show you why. Join one of the 2 tours we are offering this coming November and see for yourself! On the tour you will:
- Meet the child you sponsor through Compassion’s program
- Meet children who have graduated from the sponsorship program and are now attending local university as Leadership Development Students
- See the most vulnerable of children being supported by meeting babies and their families growing up in the Child Survival Program
- Hear from pastors, staff and the children themselves about their experience with Compassion
- Serve your heart out loving on the poor and being embraced by incredible people!

Day 1: Embarking on the Journey
We depart from Miami at 9:40am in the morning. Once we arrive, we will check into our hotel and gather together for a time of orientation and prayer. We will have the country staff joining us so we have can connect with them and hear their hearts for this trip as well. They are the dedicated “hands and feet” of Compassion’s ministry here in Haiti!
Days 2 & 3: The Impact of Your Partnership with Compassion
Our next two days will be dedicated to learning more about the people of Haiti, embracing time together with families as we meet them in their homes, playing with the children at the development centers, and learning why Compassion is here and the impact your commitment to the ministry is having in changing children’s lives. Be prepared to see the Child Survival Program, meet Leadership Developments Students and see the work of Complimentary Interventions in providing relief and development since the earthquake of 2012.
Day 4: Sponsor/Child Fun Day
Today you and your sponsored child (ren) will meet face to face and spend an entire day encouraging each other, playing together and connecting in ways you’ve never imagined! You’ll never forget today and neither will your child! This is what Compassion is ALL about – releasing kids to their full potential by communicating that they have value, purpose and are dearly loved. Your visit communicates those very significant truths in the heart of a child! And, your heart will forever be changed by the experience as well!
Day 5: Returning Home
Today we prepare to go home to our friends and families to share our amazing stories from our time here in Haiti. We’ll take time to debrief our experiences and encourage each other to continue to pray and intercede for Compassion’s children and the beautiful country we’ve all come to love!
In order to ensure our children's protection and determine eligibility to travel with Compassion, we now require all travelers (over the age of 18) to complete a criminal background check to ensure the safety of the children in our programs. Please visit Screening One Sponsor Tour BC to complete your online background check at the time of registration. If you are unable to complete this online, please contact us and we will send you a paper form for you to fill out and return. Compassion uses a third party vendor, Screening One to process background checks. The results of your background check are confidential and all personal information is encrypted and secure.
