Guatemala might not be the first country to cross your mind when you think of echotourism, but don’t let her fool you. From beautiful mountain rivers to lush tropical valleys and everything in between Guatemala boasts some of the most fascinating adventure in Central America. Yet, set against unimaginable beauty is the harsh reality of poverty that plagues the majority of the people living here. This trip will be an opportunity to fully experience both aspects of the country.
You and other sponsors will become a ministry team on a mission to bless the children and families Compassion serves. As you minister to the children through worship, games, arts and crafts or drama or work together to assist their families you will find that inner champion deep down inside and amidst the adventure elements you can fulfill that interest for fun, healthy competition.
In addition to the service activities your team will complete a series of activities such as rafting, bicycling, zip-lining and a host of healthy competitions such as cow milking, cow bathing, fishing and much more. The end goal of all these fun adventures will be your opportunity to “Speaking up for Those Who Cannot Speak for Themselves.” Throughout this journey you will learn how Compassion works in the poorest countries of the world, you’ll experience the thrill of meeting children (especially those whom you sponsor here) who are truly being released from poverty and you will have the opportunity to raise both awareness and funds that will be used to enhance the ministry activities taking place in this amazing country.
If you enjoy the cutting edge and are eager to find that inner champion to take on the evils of poverty, this is the adventure for you. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. So register today while space is still available!!
