Ecuador is an incredibly beautiful and diverse Andean country. Through the different people groups and cultures it's the children who capture our hearts. See how hope allows them to blossom within the environment and teachings of the local evangelical church. The church partnership with Compassion makes the operation of the student centers possible. Here children receive development. This includes tutoring, health and dental care, life skills, and most importantly spiritual training. We'll also see how the Child Survival program meets the needs of the very young as well as offers literacy and skills training for the mothers. At 3-4 years of age children graduate into the sponsorship program. They join other registered children who are being developed educationally, physically, socially and most important of all spiritually. As they near completion, these young people have the opportunity for further vocational training and education. On this tour, your dream comes true. You get to spend an amazing day with your sponsored child! Now the relationship is real!
Take the time to read the general itinerary. Please consider it prayerfully and make your decision whether this is the time for you to join an Ecuador sponsor tour. Hope to see you in Miami!

Day 1: Ecuador Here We Come
Saturday, April 11: Our Ecuadorian experience starts late this afternoon in Miami when our American Airlines flight takes off for Quito. Take some time to get acquainted with your new family.
Days 2-5: Worshipping and Learning How it All Works
Sunday-Wednesday, April 12-15: We start our tour worshipping with our Ecuadorian brothers and sisters. This really brings us close and ready to experience what God has in store for us. Monday we visit the Compassion country office and meet the staff dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the poorest of the poor. Our first visit starts with Child Survival. See what a difference this home-based program makes! A center visit on Wednesday allows us time to interact with the children and to see how the staff know each one. You’ll be amazed how they track their progress, health, and letters to you. At one of the centers, we’ll see the difference Complementary Intervention Funds make. During a special dinner, we’re joined by young adults who have graduated from our sponsorship program as well as some university students participating in our Leadership Development program.
Day 6: It’s Finally Here!
Thursday, April 16: What a day this will be! We can’t even imagine that first hug from our sponsored child. We’re actually meeting face-to-face. As we continue to build our relationship, we realize God made the perfect match. Enjoy watching and interacting with these little kings and queens for a day. Then it’s time to give our gifts and final words of encouragement. A big group photo will help to give those at home some idea of our amazing day. Imagine all the stories we’ll share over dinner!
Days 7-8: Time to Take it Home
Friday-Saturday, April 17-18: A final visit to a child development center gives us a lasting memory of how our partnership with Compassion really works. Offer words of encouragement and commit to consistently pray for them and all the other centers and children we’ve met. Then there’s time to visit a market for gifts, souvenirs, coffee, and more. Very early Sunday morning our American Airlines flight leaves Quito. We arrive in Miami with plenty of time to connect home. Thank you God for our time together in Ecuador! We leave inspired by God’s awesomeness!
In order to ensure our children's protection and determine eligibility to travel with Compassion, we now require all travelers (over the age of 18) to complete a criminal background check to ensure the safety of the children in our programs. Please visit Screening One Sponsor Tour BC to complete your online background check at the time of registration. If you are unable to complete this online, please contact us and we will send you a paper form for you to fill out and return. Compassion uses a third party vendor, Screening One to process background checks. The results of your background check are confidential and all personal information is encrypted and secure.
RESERVATIONS should be made well in advance and require a nonrefundable deposit of $280.00 per person. Final Payment of $3,545.00 is due no later than Thursday, April 17, 2014.
