Compassion has the most amazing dedicated staff who are called to reach their children and families and you are making this possible. We will start and end our tour in the large city of Dhaka. Compassion's country office gives us just the foundation we need to get the very most out of our trip and we are eager to get started. As we visit the different child development centers and partner churches we are humbled at how they do this day after day and are so thankful we came as an encouragement and blessing to them. When we look into the eyes of the mothers who are part of the child survival program we cannot imagine what their lives were like. The joy and hope they are given now as they become the women God intended in their homes and families. Of course what's better than sweet babies? Those toddlers will keep us going! Besides learning how each center operates with their meticulous records, the energetic children want our attention. Being up in the northern countryside around Bogra gives us the contrast between urban and rural with their varying needs. Don't worry because regardless of where your child is you will get to spend an incredible fun-filled day together with photos to take home and memories to last a lifetime.

Important Note: We are aware of the recent Political unrest taking place in Bangladesh and that currently travel there is not advisable. However, we are moving forward (by faith) believing that by the time this trip is to take place that the current situation will be resolved and it will once again be safe to travel. Our experienced Bangladeshi staff are keeping us apprised of the situation and as with every tour; we are working very closely with them on the planning and preparation. Please join us in praying fervently that the Lord, in His mercy, will restore peace to the this terribly poor country. You may not know the reason you reached out to a country so far away. Whether you got your Bangladeshi child randomly or selected them because you care about this part of Asia, don’t let fear bind you, lets stand together to tell the enemy we believe in the Lord’s power to restore order and peace. Take a stand, register to today! Then, we’ll band together as a ministry team to go to Bangladesh armed with words of encouragement and blessing. By going to see and meeting those involved you will do more than you can ever imagine and you will be changed in the process. By reading this I know you have an interest so please prayerfully consider and then join us on this exciting tour to Bangladesh. You will be so very glad you chose to start 2014 this way.

Registration: Our trips fill up quickly on a first-come basis, so it is important to register immediately. Once we have received your registration along with a deposit of $380.00, we will confirm your place on the tour and you may then purchase your domestic air ticket. Costs not included in the tour price are transportation to and from New York (JFK), passport and incidentals such as snacks, additional beverages, laundry, phone calls, film and other personal items. You may want to bring extra spending money for shopping at the local markets.

Safety and Preparation: This tour is more difficult because of long international flights, time change, and extreme poverty conditions. Also, there will be some walking, rides on bumpy roads, and long days. We will have a light work element in this tour.

Compassion constantly monitors the safety of our destination countries and will make any adjustments necessary to protect our tour participants, sponsored children and in-country staff. We believe it is important to provide safe, comfortable accommodations, traditional meals and reliable transportation so that your focus can be on what God is teaching you and the impact of the experience rather than concern for your personal safety and well-being.

Please read the Tour Conditions and General Information tab before finalizing your decision.

Days 1 and 2: From America to Asia

Saturday-Sunday, February 15-16: We've traveled to New York City's JFK Airport, met our group, and now we can hardly contain our enthusiasm. Late tonight our Qatar Airways flight finally takes off. A layover in Doha, Qatar, gives us just enough time to check out their amazing airport, have a cup of coffee or tea, or sample their shops. Then off for the remainder of our flight to Bangladesh.

Day 3: Orientation

Monday, February 17: Early this morning we finally arrive in Dhaka. We check in our hotel and freshen up before heading to Compassion's country office. The staff is so eager to welcome us and share their hearts with us. As we get an orientation to the country and culture we also receive an overview of their ministry in this fascinating country. We are so impressed and can't wait to start experiencing it for ourselves. During a traditional Bangladeshi lunch we fellowship with this amazing godly staff. Yes, they are definitely called to make a difference in their country and we get to partner with them.

Days 4 - 8: Compassion Up North

Tuesday-Saturday, February18-22: Flying from Dhaka this morning we travel to North Bengal and the city of Bogra. Visiting a different partner church and child development center the first 3 days we learn more about all that's involved in developing a child and releasing them from poverty. We see the intricate records on each child plus their office accounting and other details. Another day our hearts are overjoyed as we listen to testimonies from mothers in the child survival program and play with those adorable babies and toddlers. What an incredible change in these families. Another emphasis is on Complementary Interventions and how these special funds are used to make our core programs even better and meet special needs that arise. Don't worry there will be plenty of children we can interact with and burn up our extra energy. They are so sweet and special we know another reason we joined this trip. Also some families have opened their homes to us so we get a glimpse of their lives on a daily basis. Now it's time for the big day for all sponsors of children in the north. It's a fun day filled to overflowing with memories. We definitely are the main attraction at the amusement park today! We learn more about our children and they now know we love them so much we travelled all this way just to personally meet them.

Day 9: Back to Dhaka

Sunday, February 23:

We're back to where we started in Dhaka. Sponsors in the south get their turn today and they are ready! Fun in Nandan Amusement Park is more than we dreamed. But most important is that special relationship that is so much deeper now. Hugs, prayers, and group photos close out our time together.

Days 10-11: From Asia Back to the United States

Monday-Tuesday, February 24-25: This morning we shop for all those souvenirs and special gifts we want to take home. Of course we have to have some of that delicious tea to share as we make our stories come alive with family and friends. Early evening we board our plane for Doha where we spend the night in a great hotel before continuing on. Arriving back in New York early Tuesday afternoon we make our connections home. What an amazing God-filled journey we've been on! We have new love and zeal to share what He is doing through our partnership with Compassion. Our commitment to be child advocates is renewed because we spent time in Bangladesh.

In order to ensure our children's protection and determine eligibility to travel with Compassion, we now require all travelers (over the age of 18) to complete a criminal background check to ensure the safety of the children in our programs.

Please visit Screening One Sponsor Tour BC to complete your online background check at the time of registration.  If you are unable to complete this online, please contact us and we will send you a paper form for you to fill out and return.  Compassion uses a third party vendor, Screening One to process background checks.  The results of your background check are confidential and all personal information is encrypted and secure.

RESERVATIONS should be made well in advance and require a nonrefundable deposit of $380.00 per person. Final Payment of $3195.00 is due no later than 11/5/2013.
