This month, pray for Compassion’s student leaders around the world. Pray for them as they travel hours to attend classes while they also try to help support their families. And please pray that they will have the energy to fulfill their calling — to change the world!

Monday 1 We praise God for all of the Leadership Development Program students around the world who will attend college for the first time this fall. Pray for an easy transition and that God would bless them as they learn to become servant leaders for Him.

Saturday 6 Pray for the recovery of two Compassion-assisted children in Indonesia: Cristine, who had heart surgery, and Melinda, who had surgery to repair an inborn skull defect.

Monday 8 Pray for Valeria’s mother in Peru, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor and is undergoing treatment. Pray for God to comfort Valeria and her family.

Tuesday 9 Pray for God’s mercy and provision for the children and families assisted by two of our centers in the Philippines. These families lost homes and belongings to Typhoon Bebeng.

Friday 12 Please pray for the families of the children who have been affected by heavy rains that caused flooding in Ghana, especially those from the Nyakrom Presbyterian Child Development Center.

Saturday 13 Pray for Evelin’s father in Ecuador, who fell from the house’s terrace and sustained head and spinal injuries. He is recovering at home but is paralyzed.

Sunday 14 Pray for the momentum of Compassion’s new “Water of Life” program — that God would raise up donors and bless fundraisers to supply these safe water systems to thousands of families within the next several months.

Monday 15 We praise God that more potable water is available for the community of Cucuta, Colombia, where heavy rains had left the water contaminated. Also, praise God that there have been no reports of illness among Compassion staff or children due to contaminated water.

Tuesday 16 Pray for God’s comfort upon two families in Indonesia who lost their beloved children: Angga, who died after a hit-and-run accident, and Nisrina, who died from a blood disorder.

Wednesday 17 Please pray for the staff of AIC Kanan Child Development Center in Kenya as they continue to minister to children after their facility burned to the ground.

Thursday 18 Pray for Shofol in Bangladesh, for his family, and especially for his father, who is the only earning member of the family and recently went blind.

Friday 19 We praise God for the miracle performed on 4-year-old Alayna in Ecuador! She had hit her head after a nasty fall and the doctors said she was clinically dead, so they disconnected life support. An email went to all Compassion staff requesting prayer for a miracle. Alayna is now home and in good health!

Sunday 21 Pray for Shuvodhara, Ashik, Jharna and Nirob in Bangladesh, who all suffer from heart problems.

Monday 22 Please pray for the safety and protection of the Ingenio Angelina community in the Dominican Republic from cholera. Please pray for the recovery of those who have been infected by the disease.

Tuesday 23 Pray for the many parents of Compassion-assisted children in eastern India who are addicted to alcohol and smoking. Pray that they would be delivered so they can better care for their families.

Wednesday 24 Pray for one of our sponsored children in Uganda, whose father went mad and whose mother deserted the home to live with another man. Currently the child is very traumatized and is staying at the overseer’s home at church.

Thursday 25 A mysterious virus has struck the Bihar state in eastern India, killing at least 50 children. No Compassion children have been affected thus far. Pray for our children’s health, and for the doctors to be able to identify and treat the virus.

Friday 26 Please pray for God’s provision for parents of our Compassion-assisted children in Togo, as the cost of living keeps rising.

Sunday 28 Pray for Tanyawan in Thailand, who is facing a difficult surgery to repair her skull from damage sustained in a car accident. Please pray for the operation and for her health.

Wednesday 31 We praise God for how He has protected our children, church-partner staff, and their families in the Philippines from Typhoons Falcon and Aere!  Please continue to pray for the Philippines during this rainy season.
