James Hansen joined Compassion's Global Leadership Team in 2009, serving as the Vice President of Risk Management.
James' prior professional experience includes serving as the Principle Auditor with the Colorado Springs Office of the City Auditor. In that role he directed construction and performance auditors in audit and consulting assignments within the City of Colorado Springs and its enterprises, including Colorado Springs Utilities, the Colorado Springs Airport and Memorial Hospital. Before moving to Colorado Springs in 2006, James was employed with Farmers Insurance Group in Los Angeles where he served in various roles for 19 years, including the Director of Field Auditing. James has vast experience as an auditor. He has performed and managed internal fraud investigations, primarily in the insurance industry, and has worked with local law enforcement to prepare prosecution files.
James' extracurricular activities include serving as the liaison between his local church–Tri Lakes Chapel–and Habitat for Humanity, co-leading the men's ministry at his church, playing the guitar, and mountain biking.
James and his wife Michele were married in 1990 and have twins, a son and daughter, born in 1999.
