While the tutoring provided through Compassion’s Child Sponsorship Program augments a child’s primary education, significant needs at the secondary level can stall the education of high-potential students. Compassion children need more resources for education and training if they are to improve the quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities.
So many children and young adults crave knowledge. They want to graduate so they can use their skills to help others escape the poverty they were born into. Supporting educational needs includes providing funds for:
- Books, supplies and fees for tests and labs
- Postsecondary classes (including vocational training)
- Literacy and financial training for adult caregivers
- Nonformal education resources, including playgrounds, libraries, computer labs and training
