What is a corporate giving campaign?
Every year, many companies have a corporate giving campaign at work. Organizations such as United Way and Neighbor to Nation usually host these events. If your company has a fund drive like this, you can take this opportunity to support Compassion.
How does it work?
At community and workplace fund-raising drives, United Way raises money for numerous nonprofit organizations. In a similar manner, Neighbor to Nation represents Christian charities like Compassion in workplace drives, offering people like you the opportunity to donate to Compassion through payroll deductions.
Whichever organization is hosting the event at your company, when the campaign begins, ask if Compassion is one of the nonprofit organizations listed for you to donate toward. If not, you can write us in! Our tax identification number is 362423707.
Since Neighbor to Nation and United Way both deduct fund-raising expenses before they distribute the funds raised, Compassion will not receive 100 percent of the money you donate. However, since we know employees are strongly encouraged to participate in these campaigns, Compassion feels it is important that we offer you the option of contributing to us in this way.
If you sponsor a Compassion child, please note that gifts contributed through a corporate giving campaign cannot be used toward monthly sponsorship. Since Compassion is not in control of exactly when we receive the contribution, and because we do not receive 100 percent of the donation, it is not possible to allocate it for sponsorship. Instead, the gift will go to the Partners of Compassion (POC) fund.
