Compassion East India has provided more information about the political protests that have occurred throughout the Assam and Darjeeling districts of India. These protests have been going on since early August.

Political protests will temporarily suspend for a few days, but are planned to resume on August 18. A public curfew is currently in effect for these areas. Program activities continue to remain suspended for EI-173, EI-174, EI-179 and EI-183. The program activities have resumed for EI-775; however, some children are not attending for safety reasons. No beneficiaries have been affected by the protests. The partnership facilitators in these areas are closely monitoring the situation.

Please pray for a peaceful resolution of this situation and that our beneficiaries will be protected.

Compassion East India will keep us updated as more information is available.
