Violent protests occurred in the city of Gonaives, Haiti, on April 30, 2013. Currently, three people have been killed and several others were injured.

Currently, no children or staff members have been affected. However, Gonaives Child Development Center (HA-371), Beracca Child Development Center (HA-731), Philadelphia Child Development Center (HA-773) and Bienac Child Development Center (HA-818) have temporarily suspended program activity for the safety of the children. The Partnership Facilitator for this area is in contact with the centers and is closely monitoring the situation.
