Advisory: Typhoon Rammasun Hits the Philippines

UPDATE: July 30, 2014 - Approximately 10 church partners have reported damage from Typhoon Rammasun, but no information is available on the extent of the damage. No injuries or deaths to our program beneficiaries have been reported.

Five children at PH-823 Heritage Learning Center were affected by the typhoon, and Compassion Philippines continues to gather information on other children at development centers located in Bicol, Sorsogon, Masbate, Manila and Quezon. Our church partners have provided food, clothing and blankets to the affected families.

Compassion Philippines continues to gather information about our beneficiaries and how best to help them.

Please pray for the families and communities affected by Typhoon Rammasun. Please ask for the Lord’s protection and care.




July 17, 2014 - Typhoon Rammasun hit the Philippines on July 16, 2014. Thousands of people in the affected areas of Bicol, Sorsogon, and Visayas were evacuated. Schools and businesses are currently closed due to the loss of electricity and transportation issues.

Compassion Philippines is currently gathering information about how our beneficiaries have been affected and will provide updates as information becomes available.
