Tropical Storm Isaac brought heavy rain and violent winds to Haiti on Aug. 24 and 25, 2012. The most affected areas include the capital, Port-au-Prince.

Compassion Haiti has confirmed that the homes of some children from Cabaret Child Development Center (HA-295), Nouvelle Jerusalem Child Development Center (HA-806) and Nan Plaisir Child Development Center (HA-812) have been damaged by flooding. However, the full extent is not currently known. These centers are providing shelter and are contacting all families to confirm their statuses. Compassion Haiti has confirmed that all staff members are safe.

Compassion Haiti is closely monitoring the situation. Our Disaster Relief Fund will be used to provide food, water, shelter, and other immediate relief items to affected families.

Please pray for those who have been affected by Tropical Storm Isaac. Please pray for the Lord’s continued protection over all of our Compassion-assisted families in Haiti.
