As of Saturday, Aug. 25, most of the Dominican Republic was safe from tropical storm Isaac; however, heavy rains are still occurring.
The facilities of DR-314 Student Center Ebenezer and DR-349 Infantil Decelopment Center have possibly been damanged due to flooding. A partial assessment has been conducted, but the full extent in which our Compassion-assisted families have been affected is not known. It is estimated that some homes have been damaged and personal belongings have been lost. Compassion Dominican Republic will provide additional information once it has been confirmed. No Compassion-assisted families have been reported as injured or killed.
Please pray for the Lord’s protection for all of our beneficiaries in the Dominican Republic.
Compassion Dominican Republic will keep us updated as more information is available.
