Strong winds passed through the coastal area of Chiapas, Mexico on March 3, 2013. The winds damaged crops, buildings and roads in some communities.
One child development center, My First Love Student Center (ME-821), has reported damage due to the strong winds. The roof of one classroom was destroyed and the center’s office was damaged. The center also temporarily lost electricity. No Compassion-assisted families or staff members were harmed.
The affected center will be using Compassion disaster relief funding to repair the roof.
Please pray for the staff members who are cleaning up and repairing their damaged church facility. Praise the Lord that no one was harmed.
Compassion Mexico will keep us updated as more information is available.
