UPDATE: July 14, 2011 - Heavy rains have ceased and the floodwaters have receded in the community of Talaigua Nuevo, Bolivar.

The flooded classrooms and church building of Compassion-assisted center CO-634 (Centro de Desarrollo Integral Corazones Abiertos) have been cleaned up. All activities at this center have resumed. 

Many of the affected families and Compassion-assisted children of CO-634 have been able to return to their homes.  
 
Please continue to pray for the floodwaters to recede from this area.  Pray for continued provision the families whose homes have been damaged.

July 8, 2011 - In late June, heavy rains caused flooding in the community of Talaigua Nuevo Bolivar.

The classroom and church building of Compassion-assisted center CO-634 (Centro de Desarrollo Integral Corazones Abiertos) flooded.  The center has been closed for a week while the staff cleans up from the flooding.

The homes of more than 45 Compassion-assisted children were damaged by the flooding. Some of the families have relocated to temporary shelters at nearby schools or are staying with family members.
