UPDATE: March 7, 2011 – As a result of the collapse of the building that housed UG-556, children are studying under trees.
Normal Compassion-assisted center activities have resumed.
The church and Compassion center staff are modifying a nearby building into a temporary structure. The church plans to use this temporary structure for church services and center activities until a permanent one can be built.
Plans for reconstructing the original building are underway.
Please pray for church as they make decisions on how to rebuild the structure, as well as where the center should meet during this time.

March 4, 2011 - Recently, a strong hailstorm hit the community of Kagala-Kikubampanga, which is located northwest of Uganda's capital, Kampala.
The building housing Compassion-assisted center UG-556 collapsed during the hailstorm. The building belongs to the Caring Heart Community Church.
This building is used for the church's services and fellowship times, as well as for the child development center's lunch hour, prayers, and Bible studies.
Compassion Uganda reports that no one was injured during the building collapse. So far, none of the children experienced damage to their homes or loss of personal belongings.
