Heavy rains have caused flooding and landslides in the Uttarkashi district of northern India since August 2, 2012.

One Compassion-assisted center, Himalayan Inland Mission (HIM) Child Development Center (IN-950), is located in the flooded area. Currently, all Compassion beneficiaries are safe. The families of these children have relocated to higher locations. However, these families are in need of food and basic necessities, which the child development center is providing for them.

Please pray for the continued safety of our Compassion-assisted families and center staff members. Please pray for comfort and peace for those others who have lost family members to this devastating flooding situation.

Compassion India will keep us updated as more information is available.
