Tropical Storm Washi has resulted in flash floods in the Philippines and is affecting Compassion-assisted children.

Flash floods resulting from tropical storm Washi hit the island of Mindanao on December 17, 2011. Damaged roads have hampered rescue and communication efforts.

The following child development centers have experienced damage:

  • PH-596
  • PH-598
  • PH-631
  • PH-638

Compassion staff is working to meet the immediate needs of this area by providing food, drinking water and clothing.

Please pray for the affected communities in Mindanao. Pray for the Lord’s protection and care for our children, staff and their families.
