TESTIMONY
How did you come to accept Christ as your personal Savior? I accepted Christ at a Sunday service after a friend invited me to go to the church at the child development center. First, I resisted the invitation, but after some more invitations, I went along. There I was touched by the Word and accepted Christ. In that moment, I was sure that I made the best decision of my life. Initially, I went to church because I liked musical instruments. Later, I learned how to play the guitar with the help of this friend that invited me to the church; then, I noticed that to be at the church is not just to play the guitar but to serve God. Today I am sure that I did not change my life because of the music, but because of the God who died for me. He took my sins and today I am free.
Describe your relationship with the Lord today: I pray to the Lord when I wake up and when I go to sleep. I also read the Word frequently, go to all the services at the church and participate in a group of youths that every Sunday prays before the service. Overall, I am happy with the presence of God.
What impact did Compassion have on your personal and spiritual development? Compassion offered me an opportunity to study at the child development center. This gave me a quality education and prepared me for the future. I met important people for my life, including true friends. Also, the child development center opened my eyes to the spiritual world. Overall, I am thankful for the opportunity to have spiritually growth with the lectures, Christian education classes and MPA meetings.
How are you currently serving in your local church? I am part of the praise ministry at church and help with dramas and plays. I also participate in a prayer group for the youth and am part of the leadership for the youth along with some other leaders of ministries such as dance, drama, praise and evangelism.
What person has had the most influence on your life and why? My parents had the most influence on me. They are people that have wonderful character. I admire them because they always gave us what they could. They also encouraged me.
How do you plan to use your degree to advance the Kingdom of God? I will be a good professional and not be influenced by the corruption of society. I will always give a good Christian testimony and influence others through Christ's love. Through the accounting course I am taking, I can help the child development center with my knowledge and give lectures for future LDP students.
What spiritual challenges do you think you will face during your university or LDP experience? The enemy's temptations in the area of sexuality are a challenge for me. Also, there might be people who do not want to listen to what I say about Jesus.
What is your favorite Bible verse and why? I like 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 because it is a verse that the church can live on. All we have to do in be in the presence of God and He will do everything for us. This verse was the theme of a campaign of the church during a special time. It was part of a new experience with the Lord.
