Pastor Manasseh Mutsoli is changing Chebara as he serves the children in Jesus’ name. This church oversees a Compassion child development program and is looking to partner with a church in the U.S.

  • Compassion-sponsored children receive regular health check-ups, treatments, and health education.
  • Nutritional meals, school supplies and fees, uniforms, and skills training in tailoring, embroidery, and carpentry are provided for the older children.
  • Games, athletics, modeling, debates, educational trips, and drama festivals are activities available to help build the children’s skills and confidence.
  •  This church hosts a Compassion Survival Program that provides aid to 35 mothers and their infant children.

I'd like to learn more about KE-560:

  • The humid hills of Chebara are home to 100,000 people.

  • Typical homes are made of dirt floors, clay walls, and tin roofs.

  • The average family monthly income is $22 and the unemployment rate is 80 percent.

  • Health issues: HIV/AIDS prevalence, waterborne diseases, dental diseases, malaria, and malnutrition.

  • Social concerns: high levels of illiteracy, unemployment, lack of resources, growing populations, overcrowded schools with high tuition fees.

  • Koloch Baptist Church began in the midst of ethnic segregation within communities and churches.

  • A main goal for starting this church was to integrate all ethnicities and communities into one church to worship together.

  • This church has partnered with Compassion for 25 years.

This church hosts a Compassion Survival Program that provides aid to 35 mothers and their infant children.

  • People from different ethnic communities/backgrounds are coming together into the knowledge of one loving God.
  • Service projects and public health seminars organized by the child development center benefit the community.
*Consider using this profile as a tool to begin a discussion with your leadership to see how it may fit with your church's vision and mission. While we cannot guarantee you will be partnered specifically with this Pastor, we are seeking participants for our Church to Church strategy.
