As a result of Tony’s life of ministry and leadership he has left a legacy of encouragement and hope to youth workers and students everywhere.”
As Founder and President of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education (EAPE), Tony worked to create, nurture and support programs for “at-risk” children in cities across North America, and helped establish schools and universities in several developing countries.
After 40 years, EAPE concluded its strategic work in 2014 and launched, in partnership with Eastern University, The Campolo Center for Ministry.
The Campolo Center for Ministry was founded to fulfill Tony’s vision for Christian leadership development and church renewal. It also honors his years of faithful service and contributions to the Kingdom of God, Evangelical Christianity and his alma mater.
Through strategic partnerships, the Campolo Center:
- develops robust programs to nurture, train and equip future leaders of the Church.
- recruits young women and men for ministry as pastors, missionaries, youth workers, evangelists and Christian education directors.
- raises financial support for scholarships for those who are willing to commit to such ministries.
Tony speaks about 200 different times each year around the world for a wide variety of groups including churches, colleges, youth groups and the business community. He has written more than 35 books and blogs regularly at RedLetterChristians.org.
Tony Campolo and his wife, Peggy, live in the Philadelphia area and have two grown children and four grandchildren. He currently serves as an associate pastor of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in West Philadelphia.
