Brooke Carrinton

The oldest of three children, Brooke was born in a small town in Western Kenya and orphaned at an early age. Around that time, he became involved in the local Compassion project and as he says, “was blessed to be reached by hope.” Brooke began learning about God’s love from the Compassion project he attended as well as through the letters of encouragement that he received from his sponsor- all of which he still has and treasures today. He became dedicated to his studies, excelled academically, and eventually was accepted into the Leadership Development Program in Kenya in 2007, where he received his Bachelors in Social Work from the University of Nairobi.

Brooke has organized and mobilized several projects including city clean-ups, evangelism outreaches, missions and charity work in orphanages, and setting up a non-formal school in one of the slums in Nairobi. Currently, Brooke is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Baylor University and his dream is to reach orphaned and vulnerable children by being a catalyst for change and challenging the government, churches, and communities in Kenya to be responsive and proactive in their care of children.
