If you find yourself in or around Colorado Springs in the summer and you're looking for things to do with your kids, consider our free Step Into My Shoes program.

Step Into My Shoes helps kids step out of their own world and into a much different one — the world of children living in poverty.

Step Into My Shoes is held at our Global Ministry Center in Colorado Springs (12290 Voyager Parkway) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on select dates in July and August.

Afterward, you can take a free tour of our Global Ministry Center.

During this free half-day event you and your kids will:
  • Experience a day in the life of a child in poverty.

As you search for clean water, gather firewood and find materials for shelter your family will learn about the daily struggles children growing up in poverty experience as they try to meet their basic needs.

  • Work, play, and learn in an interactive environment.

Basic survival and daily life activities are only half the experience, other activities include: playing with handcrafted toys and learning songs in other languages.

  • Meet children who are a part of our Child Sponsorship Program.

Through a live video stream*, you and your family will also "visit" a Compassion-assisted child development center, share questions, and interact with the children whose lives are being transformed.
