What is child abuse?
According to the World Health Organization:

Child abuse and maltreatment constitute all forms of physical and/or emotional ill treatment, sexual abuse, neglect, negligent treatment or commercial or other exploitation, resulting in actual or potential harm to the child's health, survival, development or dignity within the context of a relationship of responsibility, trust or power.

What is Compassion's approach to fighting child abuse?
Concern for children is the cornerstone on which Compassion International's ministry has been built. We are opposed to all forms of child abuse and exploitation and will do everything within our power to ensure that no harm comes to any child registered in our program.

Compassion has a Child Protection Policy to protect children in Compassion projects, as well as Compassion sponsors, from abuse and wrongful allegations of abuse.
