Charitable Gift Giving Goes a Long Way

When you give to Compassion, a Christian child advocacy organization, your charitable giving goes a long way. Because we are a Christian child development ministry, our programs intervene at the earliest possible age — sometimes even before birth — to help children in need. With the help of charitable giving from generous donors like you, Compassion assists children throughout their critical development years and even helps some complete their college education.

Child Survival Program

Compassion’s Child Survival Program, administered by our Christian church partners around the world, provides care before and after childbirth to help reduce infant mortality. Through charitable giving, the Child Survival Program provides mothers and primary caregivers with the education they need to properly nourish their infants and young children to protect them from life-threatening, but completely preventable diseases. With your charitable gift giving, the program offers mothers and other caregivers education in the following areas:

Child Sponsorship Program

Leadership Development Program

Imagine your charitable gift giving helping a young child survive the hardships of poverty and offering him or her the opportunity to receive a university education. That’s exactly what happens to young men and women enrolled in Compassion’s Leadership Development Program (LDP). The LDP selects graduates from Compassion’s Child Sponsorship Program who have the potential to become Christian leaders and gives them the opportunity to earn a university education and enhance their leadership abilities.

Before entering this program, candidates must first demonstrate strong evidence of Christian character as well as maintain outstanding academic performance. After they are endorsed and recommended by leaders from their schools and churches, these admirable children enter the program to develop their talents and skills so they may one day influence their own churches, communities and nations.

Other Charitable Giving Opportunities

Compassion has several other charitable giving opportunities to choose from, each with a positive effect on the lives of children in need. If you are unsure which cause you want to give to, you can make a donation to the Partners of Compassion fund. A gift to this fund supports special projects that go beyond standard child sponsorship. These projects, such as building a latrine or a well, often provide an extra layer of care that can benefit an entire community.
