Jean-Francois Bussy

Member Since 2009, Compassion Switzerland Board Chair

Jean-François is the board chair of Compassion Switzerland and pastor to the Compassion International Global Board of Directors, roles that both stem from a lifelong call to ministry service.

After completing business studies, Jean-François attended Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels, Belgium, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Theology and a minor in music.

His ministerial leadership includes serving with the International Red Cross Committee and the Revival Church of Geneva, co-founding church ministries in the city of Nyon, Switzerland, and across the border in France. He also has taught biblical history in his local high school and served the churches of Switzerland with his music ministry.

As an author and composer of music, Jean-François has recorded 21 albums and written over 300 songs, many of which have been published in various denominational hymnbooks. Having now retired from pastoral ministry, he has been elected chair of the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Switzerland.

Jean-François and his wife live in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland. They have four married children and nine grandchildren.
