Compassion Rwanda Office
Malaria kills more than 1 million people every year, and more than 750,000 of those deaths are among children in sub-Saharan Africa.* One of the most effective tools to combat this lethal disease is a simple mosquito bed net treated with the insecticide permethrin. This insecticide is not harmful to people in the minute amount used on each net. As part of its Malaria Intervention Program, Compassion International is distributing nearly 19,000 treated bed nets in the hardest-hit provinces of Rwanda, where an estimated 1½ million people are infected with the disease.
