Julie Weller was born in Seward, Nebraska. Julie is most notably an outstanding volunteer and advocate for Compassion. She has been active in the Advocates Network since it began in 1989, serving as an area coordinator and advisory council member. Julie has been foundational in finding sponsors for more than 600 children!

She has a degree in business and finance from Trinity University and has experience as a commercial loan officer, specializing in professional and executive accounts. She has a master's degree in religious education from Gordon-Conwell Seminary and has worked as the director of children's ministries in two churches. While in San Antonio, Texas, she served on the board of directors for the Christian Assistance Ministry of her local church. She helped to start an after-school program for disadvantaged children in her current community of Spokane, Washington. At present, she stays busy as a wife and mother of two young children, Peter and Alexis.
