Evening of Compassion Features Moore, Starling and Big Daddy Weave

Three dynamic Christian artists  Geoff Moore, Kristy Starling and Big Daddy Weave  are partnering with Compassion International this fall to bring music and stories of hope to 25 American cities. The Evening of Compassion tour provides a forum for the artists to share their passion for helping children who are among the poorest of the poor.

Moore, who hosts the concert series, has been an active spokesperson and sponsor with Compassion since 1987. His experiences as a sponsor led him to partner with Compassion International to develop Evening of Compassion  an event in which he's been involved for three years. "This has been one of the most fulfilling events in my entire touring life," Moore said.

Starling, a new Compassion sponsor who just had the opportunity to meet her child in Haiti, said Compassion provides a way to provide real help to real children.

"There is truly no greater way to honor God than to reach out to His children in need," Starling said. "I am thrilled to be a part of the Evening of Compassion tour to share a need and remind all of us of an opportunity in which we can live out the great commission."

The Evening of Compassion includes such cities as Cleveland, Ohio; Syracuse, New York; Chesapeake, Virginia; and Pensacola, Florida. It's the third tour produced and sponsored by Compassion International. Previous EOC tours have resulted in more than 3,000 children being sponsored.

"As we bring Compassion International to the center of the evening," Moore said, "it's amazing to step back and watch God move in unprecedented ways, and see so many people respond to sponsor children."

Mike Weaver of Big Daddy Weave said the band is excited to be involved with Compassion.

"Compassion has been an amazing ministry over the years and we are blessed to be involved," Weaver said. "We are also looking forward to going out with such a remarkable talent in Kristy Starling and, one of our heroes, Geoff Moore."

The Evening of Compassion tour kicks off Sept. 16 in Columbus, Ohio, and wraps up Dec. 3 in Cleveland, Ohio. Other concert sites and dates can be found at www.geoffmoore.com.
